A Real Mum Moment I’ll Never Forget

A Real Mum Moment I’ll Never Forget

Written by Mary Zoric, Founder of MumEase

In October 2022, I was a mum of three under four. Life was already a juggling act, but nothing prepared me for what was to come.

My 18-month-old son suddenly became very unwell — not drinking, not eating, and dangerously dehydrated. I took him to the hospital, terrified. With my husband away for work, I relied on my mother-in-law to help with my other two kids, but she could only manage daycare drop-offs and pick-ups due to her full-time job.

In hospital, the doctors were concerned. A blood test revealed signs of blood disorders and multiple viruses. My little boy was admitted immediately and placed on an antibiotic drip. He had to be seen by a blood specialist, and for a week, we were stuck in a cycle of tests, IVs, fear, and exhaustion.

By the end of the week, we got the news that the blood irregularities were caused by the viruses — he didn’t have a blood disorder after all. I was flooded with relief. My son was going to be okay.

But when I returned home, reality hit again.

The house was a mess. Laundry was piled high. Toys were everywhere. My two other kids had missed their mum, and I was beyond exhausted. There was no time to rest, no space to breathe — I had to keep going. Be present. Be strong. Be everything.

That week was a turning point for me.

Because even though my son recovered, I didn’t. Not right away. I was burnt out, overwhelmed, and stretched so thin.

That’s when the first seed for MumEase was planted.

I remember thinking, “I wish there was someone I could call just to help me through this — not a cleaner, not a nanny, just someone to take the load off so I could get back on my feet.”

That’s what MumEase is.

A support service for mums who are doing it all but don’t have a village. For mums who are strong but tired. For mums who simply need an extra pair of hands to help them get through the hard days — without falling apart.

Because motherhood doesn’t pause when life gets hard. But with MumEase, you don’t have to go through it alone.
